Keystone College is located thirty minutes north of Scranton on Route 6. Located on the border of Lackawanna and Wyoming counties.Four miles of pleasant wooded trails are located on the undeveloped back half of the campus.

The Nokomis and Tunkhannock Trails are 2.5 and 1.5 miles long respectively circling the undeveloped side of campus. Stopping at the Harry Miller Library desk and asking will get you a map and possibly a guidebook. Both trails start with a fun and bouncy suspension-bridge-crossing. These trails are indispensable resources for Keystone's biological and forensic programs. So along the creekside trail you might see a thanksgiving turkey under chicken wire decomposing awaiting evaluation by a lucky student. But their are other very interesting, less stinky sights along this small trail. There are pine log benches for rest and bird spotting, and also small ponds where crickets and frogs will be found chirping. Every so often there are informational posts detailing the trail with points of interest.

Keystone is dedicated to keeping a wooded campus and eco-friendly goals in mind. A stop along the trail is "The Sugar Shack", a small enclosure used for education on the processing of maple syrup and harvesting on campus. Also there is a outdoor amphitheater with wood benches alongside the Tunkhannock Creek used by campus educators for outdoor programs and lectures. These trails run through the shaded forest as well as grassy fields and our great for a short afternoon hike or evening walk.

David Puerner's Suggestion: If traveling while Fall leaves are changing try taking Route 307 up the Morgan Highway and through Lake Winola to Keystone's Campus for an amazing autumn drive. Afterwards stop by Gin's Tavern for some affordable wings or pizza.
