Heather Laird (B.A, M.P.A) converted to Islam. She is a fellow for the Institute of Social Policy and Understanding (ISPU), a former member of the board of directors for CAIR-MI, one of the conveners for the 1st World Congress on Muslim Philanthropy in Istanbul, Turkey, and she has spoken at various community events in southeastern Michigan and at numerous universities in Michigan on topics concerning Muslims and Islam.
