Something just sounds wrong with a new quote by Us Weekly magazine that is circulating in the press Nov. 9, 2009. The tabloid cite has quoted actor John Travolta saying he's speaking out about his son's untimely and tragic death in order to promote his daughter's new movie role.
Us Weekly writes,
Though the family has been in relative seclusion, Travolta said he is speaking out now to draw attention to his daughter's film debut in Old Dogs.
Said the actor, "We decided it was OK to come out and promote, to introduce her to the world and to give her a beautiful future in film."
That is not the same things as saying Travolta is talking about his son's death in order to get people to recognize her work in the new movie --
JOHN TRAVOLTA PUT IN QUESTIONABLE MORAL LIGHT DUE TO COMMENT
Everything John Travolta has done to date has been, for lack of a better word, proper.
He has never acted in flamboyant ways in private to attract media attention. He has not used his son's death to make money or increase his fame by giving tabloid and tattler style interviews.
His wife Kelly Preston has been a dutiful wife and a strong, positive role model for their children.
As such, it is likely that Travolta's remarks have been taken out of context and written in such a way to imply he is talking about the death of his son now specifically to bring attention to his daughter.
JOHN TRAVOLTA COMES OUT OF SECLUSION TO SPEAK WITH PRESS AFTER DEATH OF SON JETT
Travolta may be coming out of seclusion to talk about his daughter's film, but the actor has been declining to comment about the death of his son. He has also not responded to questions about the court trial that was declared a mistrial in a shockingly unjust legal move by a Bahamian court.
Travolta has given no indication whether he or wife Preston would consider testifying in a future trial of the extortionist accused of attempting to blackmail the celebrity for 2 million dollar (or release confidential medical records about the death of the celebrity couple's Autistic son).
Us Weekly news correctly reported that Travolta and Preston have both declined to comment on what they describe as, "an extortion case involving a former Bahamian senator and a paramedic who are accused of demanding $25 million from the family with information about Jett's death."
