Movies are always a great escape and in the hot summer months, they offer the bonus of getting out of the heat! A fun and free way to see movies all summer is at the Free Family Film Festival where you can see 2 different films per week!
If you are looking for a newly released family movie, consider checking out “Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs.” The third installment in the popular franchise brings back the same characters your kids already know and love as well as some fun (and large) new ones.
Along with the dinosaurs, “Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs” introduces a fun new character named Buck. As mostly deranged weasel, Buck is voiced by Simon Pegg who was perfectly cast as engineer Montgomery Scott in "Star Trek." He does tend to steal (or bring new life to) the movie at times and sure to become a fan favorite!
“Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs” 3-D production enhances the visual effects and adds an overall excitement factor for the kids. The film is rated PG (mild rude humor and peril) and while little ones may find some parts a bit scary (and at 90 minutes a bit long) but kids 5 and up should be fine. And of course Scrat is on a desperate hunt for an acorn but, there is a female squirrel involved!
