Farrah Fawcett openly shares her battle with cancer through her upcoming documentary Farrah's Story.. Now 62, the actress has been fighting anal cancer for the past two-and-a-half years.
The documentary was shot with Fawcett’s personal video recorder covering her everyday life with cancer as well as the treatments in the US and in Germany.
In the documentary, Fawcett says this about her cancer, “it was this peanut-sized tumor that had sent its army of mutant cells into my liver. And it would continue to send reinforcements into any organ into my body unless someone did something to stop it."
The documentary covers when Fawcett’s medical information was leaked to the tabloids. Looking for help, she called the FBI thinking they could locate the leak and stop the information from being printed. Instead, Fawcett’s states, "They told me to stop all my vigilante behavior." The person’s identity was later discovered (not by the FBI) and she herself has since died of cancer.
There are inserts in Farrah's Story which show Fawcett seems to believe she is losing her battle as in this statement:. "Cancer, is a disease that is mysterious, headstrong and makes its own rules. And mine, to this date, is incurable. I know that everyone will die eventually, but I do not want to die of this disease. I want to stay alive. So I say to God, because it is, after all, in his hands. It is seriously time for a miracle."
Farrah's Story can be seen on NBC Friday the 15th at 9:00 pm
