Dr Phil to fix Suleman's problems with fairy dust?
                        Would you call Dr. Phil?

You know how you can can’t help but look when you drive by an accident? That’s how I feel about Nadya Suleman! I don’t want to watch, really I don’t, but I just can’t help myself. I mean, it’s as if she thinks to herself, “Nayda, people aren’t watching you today, better make another absurd move” and of course when she does, I can’t help but look again!

Watching her in interviews, I always stare at her wondering what in the world is going through that brain of hers. I know she has one: she can articulate full sentences, override her Mother’s statements and manipulate others with it. So, why can’t she comprehend this situation? My heart goes out to her Mother as she is trying so hard to get Nadya to understand the consequences of her actions only to be brushed off and told she can just write a book to make money! I can feel her Mother’s frustration when she snaps back with “WHEN? You have 14 children to raise!” But Nayda gives her a blank stare and says she’ll care for them on her own: as if magic fairy dust is going to sprinkle down and make it so.

While Suleam may have her head in the clouds, Kaiser Permanente hospital does not. They are fully aware of what it takes to keep the Octuplets safe and thriving and they have become concerned. This apparently wasn’t clear to Suleman who stated in an interview she would get a few more cribs and maybe “paint a little” when asked about preparing to bring the octuplets home! Evidently, the hospital doesn’t feel a little paint is going to do the job and has informed of such.

So how does this mother of 14 respond to this news? Does she accept Angels in Waiting’s offer to care for the newborns? Does she make an appointment to work with the hospital to make sure she is equipped? Does she take classes to ensure she understands what is necessary in carrying for the octpulets? No, she calls Dr. Phil! Really, the Dr Phil on TV.

The hospital states they won’t talk about it as it is a “private matter” but Dr Phil and Suleman are more than happy to spill it all publically. According to Dr. Phil (is he even a real Dr?) Suleman called him all upset after the hospital officials voiced their concerns and let her know that until they were satisfied the children could be cared for properly, they may detain releasing them.

For the life of me, I can’t figure out why she would call a TV host instead of dealing with the Kaiser Permanente officials who are making the decision! Wouldn’t any Mother instantly go into protect mode and take whatever steps necessary to fix the problem?  Apparently not all Moms, as Suleman feels somehow, talking to Dr. Phil (maybe another 2 episodes of the rating suffering TV show) is just the action to show the hospital she is only thinking about more publicity only thinking of the babies! I mean really, what says "kids first" more than setting up some TV time to air one’s laundry?
