I am not actually afraid of needles, but I am in no way fond of them either. I can’t watch when I have my blood drawn or when I, or my kids, get an injection. This may explain why the fact that three people were pricked by hidden needles really freaked me out!

Within a few hours, there were three 911 calls from three locations: all regarding people being stabbed by hidden hypodermic needles! According to the Vancouver Washington Police, they first incident occurred at the Vancouver Public Library. A patron’s finger was pierced by a needle which was taped to the handset of the payphone!

The next two victims were pricked when they used the doorknob to enter Moody Brews coffee shop and the local Kinko’s/FedEx. Authorities said the hypodermic needles had been taped on the bottom side of the knobs and were hidden from view.

Police stated that they were attempting to test the needles for any diseases and that all three of the injured parties received medical care. There are no suspects at this time.
