Veteran’s Day is Wednesday and there is often a question of what is open and what is closed.
It is a Federal Holiday which means that all Federal ran businesses will be closed but many State ran businesses choose to close as well.
• Shopping Malls and most retailers ~ not only will they be opened but they are having terrific sales
• Street parking is FREE – so you can head on down to Seattle and hit those sales and park for free
• Local attractions from the Pacific Science Center to the Zoo to Pikes Place market.
• Washington State Ferries will be running on their regular weekday schedule
• Metro will be running but on their reduced weekday schedule with a few routes canceled - you can check for a full schedule at their website.
• Recycling, garbage and yard waste collections will be picked up
• These Liquor stores
Now what is closed on Veteran’s Day
• Schools – Public and private schools
• Libraries
• Most banks and credit unions
• Municipal, state and federal offices
