We make sure that what we give our children to drink is safe and surely we are serving it in safe containers, right? Not necessarily. All bottles and/or bottle nipples are safe for our children! Many have been found to contain harmful chemicals such as PVC or Bisphenol-A (BPA) and Phthalates. Here is a run down of what to look for and avoid.
Safe Baby Products - Baby Bottles
Glass bottles are a safe choice along with colored plastic bottles and clear plastic ones which are labeled BPA-free. If you are unsure, check the bottom of the plastic bottle for the recycle codes: #2 HDPE, #4 LDPE, or #5 PP are not known to leek any harmful substances.
