The Mac has come a long way in recent years. This system was once shunned by most computer users because it is different and not what they are used to. The Mac still isn’t very popular but is gaining strength in a lot of markets.
Due to the fact that some Mac computers can now use Microsoft Windows, they are now more compatible with a lot of your favorite programs and hardware. Mac also has a history of being more resistant against viruses than your typical home computer. However, if you have one that is capable of running Windows then that may no loner be true as the main barrier was the difference in operating systems.
Mac is no longer just for computers and that has helped them gain a lot of popularity. The Apple IPhones and IPods have done a lot to boost there sales in the past couple of years. The Mac computers are still struggling though because people prefer to stick with what they know and trust. When you are spending several hundred dollars and a machine then you want to know what you are getting. The prices for the Mac computers are a bit steep as well.
In years to come Mac may gain more popularity as they evolve and become more compatible with the Microsoft programs and hardware. In fact they may be just like EMachines and Dell in the next few years. The idea of them becoming just like any other computer system is bad news to the existing customer base who buy Mac because they want something different.
