Jay Dix lives in Columbia, Missouri and has written his latest novel called Deadly Deceit. It's a story about a medical examiner who gets himself in a little bit of trouble when he goes against his work ethics for a friend. There has been a murder and the spouse of the victim is someone that he knew in his past and it comes back to haunt him and he has to make a decison that could destroy his career but he makes the decision and lives with the results. While he is working the case he runs into a shady character named Bower who is up to no good and in the end he gets his just desserts.

The book is very well written and very fast pased. It was a quick read and very informative on the world of the medical examiner. Since Mr. Dix is actually the Medical Examiner for Boone County the world of which he writes about was very easy to see in his writings. He has also written Murder int he Heartland and five others.
