One band that has proved that MTV and radio air play do not necessarily mean success has reached a new popularity that bands can only dream of. Slightly Stoopid has made a successful career through rigorous touring, word of mouth, and overall excellent song quality.

Slightly Stoopid has generated a massive following and do not seem to be slowing down in the least bit. Their style is a fusion of reggae, acoustic, and punk, with a touch of hip-hop. They currently have released seven albums and a live CD/DVD combo. Their 2007 album, Chronchitis reached #55 on the Billboard.

The guys of Stoopid have not reached the mainstream media, nor do they seem to care. This attitude only adds to their success because unlike many bands out there, they are not willing to conform to what is popular.

While there is a noticeable progression from their more punk days when the late Sublime lead singer Bradley Nowell discovered them, they continue to compile tracks that are hard to resist. Standout tracks like "Closer to the Sun," "Sweet Honey," "Wicked Rebel," "Ever Really Need," and "The Otherside" show diversity in their sound, something many bands lack today.

Slightly Stoopid continues to play hundreds of shows a year at all sorts of venues, even playing festivals like Coachella and Lollapalooza. Slightly Stoopid will also play smaller venues like the Crocodile Rock Café (which they played in March 2009). They have played sold out shows across the globe and that adds to their ever growing popularity.

Founding member Miles Doughty said it best on the band’s website, "For us, the most important thing in the future, we just want to stay busy and always playing music – whether creating, touring, or just sitting on your couch and jamming. I think we'll always be recording. And just have fun – without  the fun part, it ain't worth it" (slightlystoopid.com).

The laid back style, infectious tunes, and thousands of shows under their belt will only continue to push these guys to new heights. If you enjoy one Stoopid track, you are bound to love them all.
