Instead of going to the Opera House, eating shrimp on the barbie and petting Kangaroos while touring down under, Britney Spears has been hiding out in her hotel room, as Aussie fans are upset with her consta-lip synching status, some demanding their money back and even walking out of her show.

Ms. Spears has been in Australia for a few days, and upon arrival was greeted with new laws trying to prevent singers from lip synching on tour, unless their promoters reveal that lip synching will take place before the show hits the town, which is not good news for this sultry singer.

During her show over the weekend, Britney had some fans leave after just a couple of songs, upset that the performer was not singing her hits live.

John Mayer, who is also down under promoting his new album, Battle Studies, has tweeted his thoughts in the scandalous situation, writing, ""If you're shocked that Britney was lip-syncing at her concert and want your money back, life may continue to be hard for you."

And according to her Australian promoter, Britney is very upset over the uprising, and understandably so.

Despite the current drama, Brit Brit does had a new hit, with "3" burning up the charts, and her singles album coming tomorrow.
