Tropical Storm Ida, once a Category 2 hurricane, is closing in on the central Gulf Coast and a possible landfall in the Pensacola, Florida area. According to the latest update from the National Hurricane Center, the storm is now packing winds of 70 mph and is located 185 miles south-southeast of the mouth of the Mississippi River and 285 miles south-southwest of Pensacola.
