Aside from the fact that Ronnie James Dio is one of the greatest metal vocalists of our time - he's fronted Black Sabbath, Rainbow, Heaven and Hell, and Dio - he's also pretty cool in that he's an activist for our furry friends as well.
On November 6 and 7 the The Brittany Foundation, a nonprofit charity devoted to the rescue, rehabilitation, and placement of homeless dogs, will be hosting the "A Day In Their Paws" annual fundraiser. Volunteers live in the kennels with an array of the dogs up for adoption for 24 hours straight; they get to experience how these dogs live each and every day and take breaks only to eat and use the restroom.
Ronnie James Dio will be selling autographs and photos to help raise money for the cause.

After Dio helps out at The Brittany Foundation, he'll be heading over to Europe for the winter-leg of his tour.
