Wave Invites
20 New invitations. Who are your friends now?

Wow. Without any notice or even a blog post that I can find, a huge new slew of invitations just went out to Wave users around the world.

I noticed 20 new Wave invites in my Wave inbox this evening, and if the tweet activity is any indication, I am far from alone.

This will dramatically increase the user base of people using Wave, and will enable conversations among actual groups of people who know each other in the real world. Right now there are countless Wave conversations going on with complete strangers writing things to each other just so that they can try out Wave.

"Mr. Watson. Come here. I need you!"

And perhaps it will cut down on the number of Google Wave Invite scams.

Now, I still stand by what I wrote, I still think that for all but the most diehard technical users, it's good to wait for a while to get into Wave.

If you get one of these new invitations, however, don't turn it down. Just take a bit of a look around and then be sure to subscribe to this Examiner to learn all the best ways to use Wave in the coming months and years as it gets much better and more add-ons and clients are built for it.

If you were one of those who got 20 new invites, tell me, how are you going to give them out? Let me know, I'm interested.

Just remember... If you do some sort of contest and end up giving your invitations to people you don't know, you will be linked to that person forever within Wave. Just sayin'.

I am playing with Wave every day and reading lots, but I am open to all suggestions about what aspects of Wave to cover. If you have a tip, well, I'm like a waiter: I live on the tips. Contact me on Scott, or in Wave on "scodtt" or via Twitter using the button below. Also, be sure to grab the RSS feed or subscribe to my email using the buttons above so you can get all the very best in Google Wave news and analysis from a non-technical perspective.
