One man died and two were injured when gunfire rang out amidst a crowd standing outside Capitol Hill club Chop Suey, early Sunday morning.
Details aren't clear on what exactly happened as of this writing, but police supposedly have a witness and possible suspects in custody. One 25-year-old is being booked into King County Jail on suspicion of felony assault.
It appears the crowd was for a hip-hop show featuring Young Soprano and Fatal Lucciauno.
Situations like this always irk me. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that the shooting wasn't random, based on a lack of reports of any arguing going on between club patrons. If that is the case, that means that some gun-wielding idiot chose a crowded area to carry out his motives.
It's one thing to be a murderous thug. You step up another level when you choose to become a murderous thug in a public forum where innocent lives are at hand.
I'm waiting for the police to release suspect names and then waiting for the inevitable "could be gang-related" follow-up story. Seattle is starting to see the rise of gang-violence. And, as this story and numerous others show, the outlook isn't pretty.
