Amanda Knox Finally Going to Trial

September 16, 7:42 AM
by Rob La Gatta & Mike Baldwin, Seattle Crime Examiner

Amanda Knox, the now infamous former University of Washington student who has been accused of assisting in the murder of her British roomate, Meredith Kercher, is finally having a judge review evidence in the case in order to decide if Knox, her Italian boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito, and Ivory Coast citizen Rudy Guede should be charged in Kercher's death.

Like everything in this case, the decision is expected to take weeks.  Knox has been in prison for over a year now and it's appearing less and less like there is enough evidence to convict her of any wrongdoing.  One has to feel that with the high-profile nature of the case, this process would be moving quicker.

Over the next few weeks, this case should probably pick up in terms of media coverage, as new evidence may come out.  Already, Komo 4 scored the first local interview with Knox's family, watch the video here.
