South Bay's newest member of the business community is the MainStreetChamber-San Diego. The South Bay Grand Opening event for the small business community is set for July 16 , 6:00 PM at BizTown, 4756 Mission Gorge Place. There is no admission charge for the event which will include a business mixer and an introductory overview presentation on MainStreetChamber.
“MainStreetChamber is specifically focused on small, entrepreneurial businesses and designed to help members bypass the traditional barriers to growth and profitability. We offer our members a combination of face-to-face connections plus, 24/7 opportunities to communicate, form like-minded relationships, and promote new business,” says MainStreetChamber-San Diego's new President and California State Director, Martha Phillips.
MainStreetChamber sees small businesses starting up in record numbers during this economic downturn as big business implodes, jobs are lost and people feel compelled to exert more control over their own futures. The challenge for entrepreneurs becomes one of streamlining the path to success.
Ms. Phillips went on to say, “One of the most exciting opportunities we will provide —free of charge—to each member of MainStreetChamber-San Diego is their own spot in the Chamber's on-line networking site. This site takes the best of online social networking made popular by sites like Linked-In, and other business oriented networking sites. It will provide user friendly tools our members can use to profile and promote their businesses plus connect with each other for support, advice, counsel and awareness of new business opportunities.”
With a launch planned to coincide with the Grand Opening event, the on-line site will be optimized for search engines so that members can use this space to promote their businesses nationwide.
As an incentive to attend, MainStreetChamber-San Diego will offer a free lifetime membership to everyone who attends the Grand Opening event, July 16. Members can access a growing list of free benefits –including the online networking site-- plus group rates or discounts on business-oriented services they can tap into more cost-effectively than they might be able to purchase individually.
