Woodland Park, Colorado- As the motors of treadmills and bike machines whir in rhythm of an average of six miles an hour, the sound of legacy is also heard from a gym at the YMCA in Colorado. Alan Barton the director of the Tri-Lakes Y in Monument looks worried. Usage of his sprawling Y is up, but economics has new membership down. At the same time Barton is beaming when he sees people coming through the door to hear a football coach talk about legacy. On the Front Range tonight a cold front is moving in and former Air Force Falcon's coach Fischer DeBerry is coming to the Y promoting not only his new book "the Power of influence" but also his foundation. The Front Range Examiner is in the house to talk to Coach DeBerry and to find out about the power he writes about!
Through this evening I reported from the Tri Lakes YMCA to tell you about this exciting new work by the former coach and his foundation. A recording of his talk will be aired on Envoytown Station on 365-Live! By morning Coach DeBerry will be packing up and moving from his home for 27 years to go to Oklahoma. Oklahoma? Yes you read right. Coach DeBerry is leaving to be closer to his grandchildren. "We'll be close enough to visit but far away enough to not be called on to baby sit all the time!"
