This is the second feature in a series of articles highlighting Art Institute faculty, student and alumni achievements. About more than their achievements, it gives you a glimpse into life in the industry and provides a resource for networking.
Brett Bastas graduated form The Art Institute of York Pennsylvaia in 2005 with his Associates in Specialized Technology- Graphic Design Degree. Immediately after graduation, Brett took a position as an in-house designer at Fox Pool Corporation in York, PA. While there, he aided the company with a re-branding assignment.
In 2006, Brett relocated to New York City. There, he found a position at Flight 001 as a Graphic Designer. A high-end travel accessory retailer, Brett designed packaging for a series of In-Flight organizer bags, which can you find being sold at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA).
A newlywed, Brett has a lot going for him these days. He's currently working for CBS Radio as a Senior Graphic Designer. Brett's job description requires him to work closely with the sales and strategic marketing departments to offer creative solutions to clients. In his position, he also has the opportunity to design in a variety of categories, everything from corporate identities, websites, billboards to print. Brett states, “Everyday offers something new at CBS.”
