A West side man was charged with beating up an off duty cop during an altercation that took place around Noon on Sunday at an auto impound lot.
Demon Fox, a man who resides on the first block of South Central Avenue, has been charged with aggravated battery to a police officer, criminal trespass, and resisting arrest. Police say that Fox was at the auto impound at 701 North Sacramento Avenue around 11:40 AM on Sunday when he was told by the off-duty cop that he was trespassing and must leave. It's unclear why exactly either Fox or the officer were at the pound that day. Fox allegedly refused to leave, grabbed the off-duty officer, threw him against a wall and onto the ground, and then punched and kicked the officer several times.
The officer reportedly suffered scrapes to his right knee and left eye, plus a contusion to his forehead. The off duty cop was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Fox's bail has reportedly been set at $25,000 and he is due to appear in court on March 9th.
