Although Miley Cyrus has deleted her Twitter account, she has not abandoned her War Against Twitter. As reported today by Disney Dreaming, the Hannah Montana starlet suggests that "Twitter should be banned from this universe."
“I am doing so much better now without Twitter. I think Twitter should be banned from this universe. People want to know everything, but you need to get out and be healthy and be in the world instead of crouching over a website all the time. All I did in my time off was lie in bed on my computer and sit in bed and eat ice cream and just lay there late at night. I ended up not living my life and saying things that are really no one else’s business. I’m not really a big fan of the Internet anymore. I don’t really go online anymore.”
Of course, while she does make valid points, I have to ask, if she is so against Twitter, then why is she still talking about it? According to Angry Ape, Miley Cyrus "doesn't like all the attention she is getting."
On the one hand, I could understand why she is fed up with the media, given the tabloids' penchant for false pregnancy rumors, death rumors, and fake feuds with Demi Lovato. On the other hand, Twitter raps and statements blasting the social networking site only draw unwanted attention to herself.
And speaking of Demi Lovato, while Miley Cyrus has abandoned Twitter, Demi Lovato is using the social networking site to clear up rumors about her alleged romance with Joe Jonas.
As Demi Lovato tweets:
There's been a lot of rumors lately that I'm dating one of my best friends Joe. I can promise my entire career that I am not.
We've NEVER dated. He's incredible, but we don't have feelings for eachother in that way. I love you guys, and I wouldn't lie about that.
It's ufortunate that some people out there are so desperate for attention that they have to make up gossip to keep their site alive.
But that's how this whole city works I guess. It just makes me sad that people are that mean in this world.
