Nov 14 & 15

Writers of mystery, crime and thrillers unite! The Loft presents its first Mystery, Crime and Thriller Festival next weekend, Saturday and Sunday, Nov 14 and 15. The shindig will include workshops, performances and presentations. Your favorite local authors will be attending, featuring Vince Flynn as keynote speaker. For those who are writing a book or who already have, Vince's story is a sure-fire motivator, especially if you are considering self-publishing. Whether you are creating a hard-boiled detective, a little tea cozy or a sophisticated whodunnit, you are sure to find information to help. And you may also find a kindred spirit among the many authors featured, including Carl Brookins, Philip Donlay, Jan Dunlap, Lois Greiman, Masha Hamilton, Ellen Hart, Erin Hart, Julie Kramer, William Kent Krueger, Mary Logue, Jess Lourey, Susan Runholt and Richard A. Thompson.

Publisher Midnight Ink, purveyor of hard-boiled thrillers, cozies, historical mysteries and amateur sleuth novels, will feature a session called Meet the Publisher. A fantastic array of breakout sessions are on tap, including The Body Tells the Tale, presented by medical examiner Dr. Lindsey C. Thomas, Writing into Your Fears, Capturing the Criminal Mind, and more.

Vince Flynn

The weekend includes sessions on craft, publication, research and much more, as well as time to network. Some sessions are now closed, but it's not too late to register, or at the very least, put this on your calendar for next year.
