When it comes to thinking about your food and raising the collective consciousness, Nina Planck is a true dynamo. Her book "Real Food: What to Eat and Why" was an inspiration.
Nina Planck is a champion for small farms. Raised on an ecological vegetable farm in Virginia, she sold vegetables at the local farmer's market since the age of nine. After leaving the farm, Nina worked as a congressional staffer, a reporter for Time Magazine, and a speechwriter for President Clinton's ambassador to the UK.
The lure of food is never far away...and subsequently, Planck has spearheaded farmer's markets in London, and now runs New York City's Greenmarket, one of the largest farmer's markets in the United States.
Tonight, Planck discusses her latest work, "Real Food for Mother and Baby" which covers fertility, pregnancy, and baby's first foods.
