In honor of the Tour de France, Chipotle is rolling out a new limited release burrito.  Available between July 5 - 27th, according to the press release this new "Le Burrito" boasts "naturally raised chicken (from birds that are raised in a humane way, never given antibiotics or added hormones, and fed a pure vegetarian diet), black beans, cilantro lime rice, mild tomato salsa, and freshly made guacamole."

Here's the cycling tie-in: "This combination provides an energy-boosting ratio of 65 percent carbohydrates, 25 percent fat, and 15 percent protein that allows cyclists to perform at their best while racing."

Who knew burritos could be so good for you?

But what about this antibiotic business?  Well, a bit more sleuthing and I see on their website that Chipotle is committed to chemical-free farm raised meat  and old-fashioned animal husbandry.  Their ingredients are "sustainably grown and naturally raised with respect for the animals, the land, and the farmers who produce the food."

Cheers for team Chipotle!  Anyone want a burrito???

PS. In this age of food allergies and hyper-sensitivity, people want to know...what's in my food?  These guys give you the lowdown with this cool flash demo. Roll your mouse over the burrito fixins.

Got a Chipotle near you?  Check out their website at www.chipotle.com.
