Oh no, we're way beyond sophisticated words like connoisseur. Around these parts, we just tell it like it is!

You know you're a food geek when:

1. Your freezer contains: homemade cordials… and 10 pounds of chocolate.

2. In your world….Spring means…fiddlehead ferns and the James Beard Award Nominations!

3. Co-workers wrinkle up their nose at your latest creation…Bacon Ice Cream. (Okay, wait, what about avocado ice cream then?)

4. You willingly go on a pilgrimage looking for the mobile Skillet Truck. (Where, oh where, is it today????)

5. When a friend calls for help…that means Christmas cookie production…wedging together 5,000 miniature shortbread . (Fa la la!)

6. The best birthday party…was a clandestine underground dinner…in an art gallery. Bad People Have to Eat Too…and they cook in the Alley! (Good times people…)

7. You think it’s perfectly normal to sample chocolate from five different vendors in one sitting. Single-origin, curry, bacon, and salted caramel. Oh yeah!

8. Beside your bed…is a mountain of cookbooks. (Who needs a nightstand?)

9. Vacation? Cooking class? Day of the Dead? Hurricane? No problem. I’m there!

10. You gather friends for dinner. Ordering is simple: “The WHOLE menu, please.”

Do you raise your own chickens in the city? Make your own bacon? Brew your own beer? Tell me. What makes YOU a food geek?
