TASTE's Cranberry Gin & Tonic



Mix up a batch of these Cranberry Gin & Tonics for an inventive twist on a holiday classic.   

To keep up with the slew of holiday parties, double or triple the cranberry syrup recipe and store in separate containers.  Stock the fridge with gin, soda, tonic and limes.  With a little advanced planning, your party contribution will be ready in a flash!


Cranberry Gin & Tonic

Makes (10) 10-ounce drinks

Cranberry syrup
1 tablespoon water
1/4 cup sugar
6 ounces (1/4 bag) frozen or fresh cranberries
1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lime juice

Per drink
Ice
1 tablespoon cranberry syrup
1 shot Sapphire Gin
2 ounces of tonic
2 ounces of soda
Lime wedge

Per batch (10 drinks)
5 ounces cranberry syrup
10 shots Sapphire Gin
20 ounces tonic
20 ounces soda
Ice
10 lime wedges

To prepare the syrup
Combine the water, sugar and cranberries and heat in a small pan over medium-low heat.  Simmer for about 2-3 minutes or until cranberries pop. Drian cranberries through a sieve.  Cool completely and add lime juice.

For each drink

Fill a 10 ounce glass with ice. Add 1 tablespoon of the cranberry syrup.  Add a shot of gin and the tonic and soda. Stir well and add a squeeze of lime.

A batch

Combine the cranberry syrup with the tonic and soda. Mix well. Fill a 10-ounce glass with ice. Pour over the gin & tonic mix and add a squeeze of lime to each glass.
