While searching for any particular reason to skip the gym after work, I stumbled upon a Lehigh Valley favorite that happened to land succinctly on my drive to the place I dread most. Potts’ hot dogs has expanded throughout the Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton area, and made its way into the mouths of all ages. My Grandmother constantly begs me to pick up a sauerkraut and mustard dog every time I make my way over to see her. My personal favorite is the chili, cheese and a pickle. They utilize the ingenious Cheez-wiz as opposed to a slice of cheese, as their opponent, Yocco’s, uses.
Not only are they a bit more clever with their ingredients, but they also provide a more delicious meal for less of a price. You can walk in the store with five dollars, treat yourself to two dogs and chocolate milk, and leave with enough change to buy yourself a Powerball ticket for the night’s drawing! I wouldn’t recommend eating hot dogs for dinner every night, but for a quick meal that doesn’t break the bank can’t hurt every once in a while
So next time you’re in need of a reason to skip the gym, keep on the lookout for a Potts’ Hot Dog store, take a whiff, and you just may be able to convince yourself you healthy enough to skip a day for a few cheap dogs.
