Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D-Ohio)

Wheeling and dealing created a windfall for Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D.-Ohio) to bring home to her constituents after she hesitated about voting  for the cap and tax bill successfully passed by the Democrats and a few renegade Republicans. Unfortunately, the rest of Americans will be footing the bill for it. It amounts to $3.5 billion in taxpayers dollars.

Just before the bill was debated on the House floor, House Energy and Commerce Henry A. Waxman (D.-Calif.) add the Kaptur amendment to the legislation along with other vote-getting provisions, both large and small, that had been sought by wavering Democrats.

Kaptur was so proud of her handiwork that she put the information on her Web site, the new federal power authority similar to that of Washington's state's Bonneville Power Administration.

She thinks so little of her constituents mentality that she thinks they will not connect the bounty to that of other states representatives that also packed the legislation with earmarks which  Ohioans would end up paying for by higher taxes that will have to be imposed by the Obama administration to pay for the trillions of debt that it will accrue.

What the citizens of Ohio may find out, just as the other states that are benefiting from earmarks, is that there is no free lunch and in the end, all American taxpayers will pick up the check.
