Twitter recently changed its Terms of Service. (TOS) Although many users may not know or even care about various legalities, Twitter certainly does because corporate survival may depend upon its changes. This includes generating revenue through ad sales
Simon Dumenco published an article today in Ad Age that's fabulous. Biz Stone, the founder of Twitter, keeps ad people on their toes because he's always talking about the possibility of accepting ads. However, Dumenco commented that the implications of the TOS changes may be akin "to a vampire legally sucking the life out you." That for Twitter and Facebook to actually work, "millions of people have to ritually sacrifice some greater or lesser portion of their actual personal lives."
Translation: Twitter isn't "free."
