The added irony is Dr. Joe Medicine Crow isn't even a Congressional Medal of Honor winner.  He was actually awarded the Medal of Freedom, which is a civilian honor. Pesky little details.

Yesterday, after being told of the shootings at Ft. Hood in Texas, Obama addressed the nation. Again, he was given the opportunity to appear 'Presidential'. Again, he failed.

His opening statement at this somber time:

OBAMA: Please, everybody, have a seat. Let me first of all just thank Ken and the entire Department of the Interior staff for organizing just an extraordinary conference.
I want to thank my Cabinet members and senior administration officials who participated today. I hear that Dr. Joe Medicine Crow (ph) was around, and so I want to give a shout out to that Congressional Medal of Honor winner. It's good to see you.

However, he did not stop here. He continued to talk about himself, and used the words me, my or I roughly 13 times in the following 8 sentences after his shout out. Then he addresses the tragedy:

OBAMA: What we do know is that a number of American soldiers have been killed, and even more have been wounded in a horrific outburst of violence.  My immediate thoughts and prayers are with the wounded and with the families of the fallen and with those who live and serve at Fort Hood.

Well, his "immediate thoughts and prayers" were with them AFTER he promoted himself and said "whadup" to his peeps.
