Tamiflu is free at Meijer - it's good to have when travelling.
When I told my physician's office I was travelling to Mexico, and worried about the H1N1 virus, they gave me a prescription for Tamiflu. They told me if I got exposed to H1N1, then take the Tamiflu as a precaution. If I actually came down with the flu, then take Tamiflu in full dosage at full intervals.
I paid $84 for my prescription of Tamiflu at Sam's Club. Then I learned that Meijer has been giving it away for free for years. They give away antibiotics free all the time.
I called my local Meijer pharmacy at 1005 E 13 Mile Rd, Madison Heights -(248) 307 4910.
That pharmacy told me they only keep certain types of Tamiflu in stock. So it would be good idea to call various Meijer pharmacies to determine whether they keep the strength your prescription requires.
Travellers who will be using subways, airplanes, and other crowded areas will want to ask their doctor about getting Tamiflu to take with them just in case they come down with H1N1 influenza.
