We are fortunate that North Carolina is so friendly towards homeschoolers.  This trend seems to overflow over to local area businesses.  With a little research you can find some amazing deals on special events that you and your family can enjoy at discount prices.

This March, Broadway Series South will present "Little House on the Prairie The Musical" at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium.   On Thursday, March 18th, a 2:00pm performance will be held and there will be a
special discount to Homeschooling families. To see what the show is all about, please visit the website: http://littlehousethemusical.com/

The special discount prices are as follows:

Dress Circle: $42.00
Orchestra: $36.00
Mezzanine: $29.00
Front Balc: $21.00

These prices are 30% off the regular prices. If you would like to participate in this event, please call Marlene Leavell at 919-819-4745. She will forward to you an order form that you can distribute.

The North Carolina Theater in Raleigh also offers great deals to students and educators on their Student Preview Night.  Per their web-site, the details are as follows:  "Student Preview Night (SPN) was created by North Carolina Theatre to give all students and educators the opportunity to see a Broadway musical at a discounted rate. A Q&A session immediately follows all SPN performances, giving the audience an opportunity to speak with members of the cast and crew.

All Student Preview Nights take place on the Friday before the show opens to the public at 7 p.m. at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium at the Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts.

Tickets to Miss Saigon, The Sound of Music and West Side Story are $10 for students and educators with a valid student/educator I.D. Tickets to High School Musical 2 are $16 for students and educators with a valid student/educator I.D. To purchase tickets, call the NC Theatre Box Office at 919-831-6941 x6944. All tickets are held at will call and are available for pick up from 6-7 p.m. the night of the performance with your student/educator I.D. The same deal is available one hour prior to show time during the regular run of the show.

Season Tickets for Student Preview Night are available and are only $46 for the entire season. When you purchase a season ticket you will receive the same seats for every show and save money on handling fees!
"

Another perk to the special that the North Carolina Theater offers is that you can also download a study guide for student to use prior to and after the performance to enhance their educational experience.  A point of interest for homeschoolers, only one parent will be allowed the discounted rate of $10 with a valid North Carolina Homeschooling I.D.
