
What are you doing today at 3 p.m? Cancel it. There is a Big Wheel Race in Central Park.
This is the Second Annual NYC Great Big Wheel Race, but participants need not be limited in their choice of vehicle. Slap on a helmet and you can race just about any wheeled contraption with a seat no higher than 12 inches at its lowest point.
Whether you register for racing or just show up to watch, you are encouraged to dress as a superhero of your own invention. Prizes will be awarded for originality of costume and vehicle.
Make a skateboard, buy a trike, or scavenge a wagon and meet at the Great Hill, Central Park Drive at 104th St. on the east side, 3 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Oct. 10, 2009.
