Suzi Potts instructs Sip and Stretch

Yoga practice and wine tasting meet at Periscope Cellars.

A unique class that combines yoga with wine tasting and appreciation is being offered at Periscope Cellars, an urban winery and art gallery located in Emeryville, CA.  Certified yoga instructor and wine enthusiast Suzi Potts leads an hour-long Sip and Stretch class that pairs tastes of four Periscope Cellars’ red wines with the deep sense of well being, relaxation and peace acheived through the practice of Hatha yoga.   Potts who leads classes every third Thursday of the month sees them as a means to "improve your health, increase your happiness, and leave you feeling sensational."  Classes run $20 a session in advance or $25 at the door and tickets are available online at Periscope Cellars.  Potts welcomes all levels and the only other requirements are a positive attitude and your yoga mat.  Periscope Cellars is owned by winemaker Brendan Eliason who also runs the wine program for Va de Vi Bistro & Wine Bar in Walnut Creek.  The urban winery offers twelve red wines in its online store that include single varietals and blends ranging from $5.00 to $24.00 a bottle.
