Dave Matthews Band will be playing at a theater near you in 3D stereoscopy. Starting December 11 and lasting until December 17, you can catch this cinematic concert experience from InConcert3D in a nearby Atlanta theater.
If you caught the band’s performance on Saturday Night Live last night you may have saw the commercial promoting the event. There has been no mention of it through the band’s fan site, Warehouse.
All the members of Dave Matthews Band will be “Larger than Life in 3D,” produced by Action 3D and AEG Network Live. It will be distributed by Cinedigm, a leading digital cinema company that handled the cinematic concerts of John Mayer, David Gilmour and Fall Out Boy.
“Digital technology has dramatically transformed the cinema experience,” said Bud Mayo, Chairman and CEO of Cinedigm. “The ability to see Dave Matthews in 3D, on a big screen at your local theater, for far less than the cost of a concert ticket is an exciting option for music fans. This is the future of modern cinema: movies, music, sports... the options are limitless.”
The movie will feature the Dave Matthews Band performance at Austin City Limits Festival from October 3 of this year. It will also feature music from Ben Harper and the Relentless7 from the Mile High Music Festival and Gogol Bordello from the Pine Music Festival.
More 3D concerts are reportedly in the works thanks to the popularity 3D has experienced with other cinematic ventures including the latest Christmas Carol adaptation starring Jim Carrey.
You can go to the InConcert3D web site to find out time and location for this 3D event. Atlanta fans should be able to see Dave Matthews Band in Morrow, Alpharetta, Conyers, Snellville, Lawrenceville, and Kennesaw, but show times and theater locations are supposed to be released closer the event, so things are subject to change.
