Criminalization of the homeless is rearing its ugly head in Phoenix Arizona, home of the mega wealthy, including Senator John McCain. However, this time the criminalization is focused directly at those helping the homeless, in fact at a church. CrossRoads UMC is the target and the ability to feed the homeless or anyone else for that matter is the act being criminalized. If this kind of illegal harassment continues, any church can be prosecuted for even something a simple as having a church dinner for its members. We see daily that God is being pushed out of America. It is no longer politically correct to help people or feed anyone, but especially the homeless. Prodigal’s home, the organization which operates the homeless meals for CrossRoads UMC has some interesting questions on their website. Where do we draw the line on who they can feed? Can we feed the rich but not the poor? Can we feed only church members but not visitors? Did Jesus have to have a permit to make wine or to turn loaves and fishes into enough food to feed 5,000 people?

Will my church in North Carolina eventually have to have a permit to come pick me up in the church van and take me to Christmas dinner held every year at the church? I was homeless when I first joined that church. Now that I am a member, does that make a difference in whether or not they can feed me?

When/where will this insanity stop? Will it spread? Are the leaders of Phoenix just trying to get revenge for McCain’s loss to Obama?

Remember now, McCain is supposed to be such a big believer in God, yet he allows leaders of the state he represents, to commit ungodly acts such as this. Does this sound like a challenge to McCain to put his God where is beliefs are? If he wants to see it as a challenge, let us see if he shall respond.

Any church should be allowed to hold meals for anyone it chooses. What those it chooses do once they are off the church property is between law enforcement and the people who ate and left. One should have nothing to do with the other. What the government of Phoenix is doing is clearly a violation of religious freedom. What Phoenix is doing is also a furthering of the trend of ousting God from our country.

In the meantime, CrossRoads and Prodigal Home can keep on feeding the hungry till their case is appealed.

Write to Senator McCain. Write to the Phoenix government. Object to the treatment of CrossRoads. Object to God being taken out of the equation. Donate to CrossRoads UMC. Put pressure on all those who are opposed to CrossRoads feeding the homeless.

Answer Gods call to Action.
