The small town of Mount Shasta is in Northern California, among the Sierra's. It cannot be forgotten for one main reason, its incredible view, it is the best in the area! The view is so spectacular due to the fact that Mount Shasta town is at the base of Mount Shasta, a massive snow capped volcano. There are several other volcanoes in the area but this is the most massive and noted. It is also notable because it is in the Ring of Fire.
Furthermore, this area is easily accessible by interstate 5, I-5, even in the winter. There is a main flow of travelers to keep the town going but there is more to it than that. Mount Shasta is in very close to Lassen National Volcanic Park and forest, an hour southeast of Mount Shasta town. The park is known and mainly visited due to the fact that it is an active site. It has major active hydrothermal vents, which are in the volcanic national park; this is a reason to visit the area on its own. To learn more about Lassen National Volcanic Park visit:
