Major Events
West Hollywood Halloween Costume Carnival: 6-11pm Come early, and come via cab if you can. This event is very popular and you will eventually find yourself amidst a crowd of very enthusiastic party-goers. Entertainment includes Vaud and The Villains (an 18 piece jazz/rag band), various contortionists, burlesque and fire dancers. magicians and cirque performers. This is not event for children or for those easily offended. This event is free.
Cinespia presents John Carpenters Halloween at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery: Gates open at 5:30, movie begins at 7. Again, come as early as possible. Admittance to this event is on a first come, first serve basis and can reach capacity quickly. Bring a picnic basket of food and wine, dine on cemetery grass as the movie is projected onto a mausoleum wall. $10 donation per person
Old Town Haunt in Pasadena: 7-12am A goulish underground journey through Old Town Pasadena, this event has consistently choked screams out of its visitors since 2005. If you like haunted houses, this the one to explore. Old town haunt also offers a "lights on" version for young children offered from 12-4pm. $13.50 general admission.
Shipwreck Halloween on the Queen Mary in Long Beach: 7-12pm. Various attractions onboard include a tour of a vampire village, graveyard, isolation ward and a pirate maze. There will be live music, tarot card readers, psychics, make-up artists, celebrity hosts and a massive buffet full of treats. The boat is actually haunted, so might even find yourself face to face with an actual ghost! General Admission $29.
Minor Events
Rotten Apple 907 Presents the Burbank Underground Haunted House: 7-9:30 this free event is sure to entertain, and supports a good cause. All donations are given to the girls and boys club of Burbank.
Halloween Harvest Festival at Pierce College: 10am-12am. A haunted house, corn field maze, petting zoo and delicious food await you at Pierce college. Tickets range from $4 to $15 depending upon the activities you choose.
The House at Hanuted Hill: 7pm-12am. A fabulously high-tech haunted house. Free.
