Katie Alin started her business in 2008 after working at The Taylor Family Foundation's Celiac Camp in Livermore, California. Prior to that, she had watched her mother, Elaine Taylor of the Taylor Family Foundation, suffer for years with celiac disease; through birthdays, Thanksgivings, countless holiday festivities and other events, in which she was never able to enjoy a slice of freshly made cake, pie, or even a single cookie. Thus, she became the "Inspector Clouseau" of gluten- free foods.
During this time, Katie had been working in the bakery department at Whole Foods, all the while becoming blatantly aware of the lack of options for gluten-free customers, and understanding their frustration in having nowhere to turn when it came to finding tasteful, delicious and freshly made sweets. She gradually became the "go to" person for gluten-free foods. While customers appreciated her extensive knowledge of where and how to shop for gluten-free products in the store, there were still very few quality products to truly satisfy their sweet tooth and no made-to-order options were available. Armed with bowlfuls of experience, batches of knowledge, uncompromising quality and a lifelong love of baking, she decided to start Miglet's Gluten Free Bakery.
Although her bakery began as a "Cupcakery," Miglet's has listened to the suggestions of their wonderful customers and are now also making delicious cookies, cakes, pies, tarts, galettes, muffins and breads. Because our customers deserve to have only the best, we proudly produce all of these choices and are always dedicated to looking for ways to offer even more.

As Miglet's enters their 2nd year in business they were one of 16 vendors at this year's event. Katie also donated all of the cupcakes and birthday cakes for all of the children at Camp Celiac. As a result of her tireless efforts to create only the very best gluten-free products, she also became the camp's official gluten-free baker. All Camp Celiac campers are ecstatic, as Kaite is great with the children and they really love her products.
