I have found it! The friendliest place to stop for coffee in south Orange County. It is somewhat obscure, but worth it if you are looking for warmth with your coffee. Located at 24301 Muirlands Boulevard # East, Lake Forest, CA 92630, tucked in a quiet strip mall, and yes, it is a Starbucks. From the moment you step in, you are greeted with a smile and you feel welcome. Yesterday a customer in front of me had a sore throat and could barely speak. The barista pulled out a poster with different teabags displayed and offered a suggestion that would soothe the throat and make the day not only bearable, but wonderful!
The manager, Mark, is friendly and tries to remember the customers by name. He sets a great example for his employees and they are all friendly and smiling. They actually thanked me for my business which in this day and age is almost unheard of. When having conversations among themselves instead of excluding the customers as though they aren't standing there, they draw them in, relate to them, offer their opinion or solicit one from the customer. There appeared to be many regulars. Although an older, somewhat outdated location, the feelings of warmth and the smell of a great roast are felt as soon as you step through the door.
I have been by at different times, always with the same result. I recommend this as a stop if you are anywhere in the area.
