Wednesday June 24, 7 PM: Michael Gross's last book, 740 Park: The Story of the World's Richest Apartment Building, pulled back the curtain on this famous den of Upper East Side wealth and intrigue. In his new effort, Rogues' Gallery: The Secret History of the Moguls and the Money that Made the Metropolitan Museum, he turns that gossipy, whispering tone to the Met's many acquisitions and scandals. Wednesday June 24, 7 PM: Kate Walbert, author of A Short History of Women, will appear at McNally Jackson this week. Thursday June 25, 7 PM: The very prolific and popular Alice Hoffman has a new novel out, The Story Sisters. It follows the lives of three sisters as they struggle to adjust to a brutal abuse in their past. Booklist says the story is "brimming with magic and despair, atonement and redemption." Ms. Hoffman will read from her new book at 192 Books.
