Mother's Day is Sunday May 10th.  Although I'm not one to turn down flowers and chocolate, it's sometimes nice to go outside the norm when thinking about gifts. Here are some ideas for special gifts to let your mom know how loved and appreciated she is.

Memory Maker  - Memory Maker offers jewelry that you can personalize with a picture.  They offer a huge selection of items including charm bracelets, bracelets, necklaces, cell phone charms, and more.  Choose one of the cell phone charms to hang on mom's diaper bag, or a bracelet with her favorite pic. The prices are very reasonable and range from $8.00 - $20.00.  Use promo code MD2050 for 20% off orders over $50.00

Reisenthel Carry Bag - It's ecofriendly and oh so stylish.  Let mom carry her groceries, veggies from the farmer's market, or picnic lunch in style.  They even offer smaller sizes so kids can carry a matching bag.  These versatile and hip bags are available at Sur La Table at Stony Point Fashion Park.

ProMom T-Shirts - If mom is still wearing her t-shirt from the 2001 Monument Ave 10K, then ProMom tshirts are the perfect gift for her.  Trendy, hip and totally true sayings grace these colorful tees. ProMom tees are available in Richmond at fab'rik.

Personalized Digital Photo Frame - Pandigital offers digital photo frames that you can preload with photos.  All mom has to do is take it out of the box, turn it on, and enjoy the slide show of family photos.  Ordering the frame and loading it with your pictures is extremely  easy.  If you already have a Shutterfly account, you can load the pictures directly from your account to the frame.

Since what many moms really want is a chance to spend time with their families, celebrate Mother's Day by spending a day at a Richmond museum, or venturing out for a day trip.
