Four Minnesotans receive Conservation Leadership Award for commitment to environmental conservation
Monday night, October 26th, 2009, four Minnesotans were awarded for leadership in environmental conservation for 2009 by the Conservation Minnesota Voter Center.
The four winners of the awards are:

Will Steger, world-famous polar explorer and global warming educator

Representative Paul Gardner (D-Shoreview), leader on recycling and waste reduction issues, including an electronic waste recycling bill

Mike Kilgore, Chair of the Lessard-Sams Outdoor Heritage Council and citizen expert on fish, game and wildlife conservation and protection

Sheila Smith, Executive Director of Minnesota Citizens for the Arts, spokesperson and coordinator of the coalition that led to the success of the 2008 Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment.

Also released on Monday by the Conservation Minnesota Voter Center, was an environmental scorecard for Minnesota legislators. This 16 page document covers an overview of the 2009 legislative session, how the legislators performed on environmental issues, and scores for both Senate and House votes.
