The United States Mint has added a “Last Opportunity” section to its online catalog. The section lists products that will be available for only a short time before being withdrawn. (See www.usmint.gov and go to Online Store which will display the tab.)

The current items with discontinuation dates include:

· Martin Van Buren First Spouse coin–December 3
· Louis Braille commemorative coins--December 11
· 2007 Presidential Dollar bags and rolls--December 31
· 2008 First Spouse bronze medals—December 31

The mint usually ends sales of products when the next in the same series goes on sale. For instance, the Martin Van Buren coin will end on December 3 to coincide with the date that the Margaret Taylor coin goes on sale.

Separately, the mint announced that the Braille coin has sold about 200,000 coins across all lines. The maximum mintage allowed by law is 400,000 with a portion of the proceeds going to the National Federation for the Blind.
