A Colorado sports nut for life, Erin Hickey takes his obsession to a new level with the best seat in the house, covering local hoops, hockey, the Rox and everything in-between scene.
A quick shout out to Jeff Francis, who today, after nine starts, 53 innings and four losses, got his first W of the 2008 season (6-2 over the Twins). It was his first regular-season win since September 23, 2007, so I'm guessing he'll be celebrating. Just remember, Jeff, friends don't let friends drive drunk... and neither do Examiners. So if you need a ride, you know who to call.
I thought the Rockies were on their way to righting the ship a couple weeks ago... and then they hacked up six losses in a row, so I'm leery to get my hopes up too high this time around. But it does feel like today's win might provide a nice little morale boost for the guys to ride for a few weeks. At the very least, maybe a couple wins will distract the bosses from this silly little idea that it's time to move Matt Holliday.
