Since it's close to Halloween, it's only normal to try to get some more spooky material for the season. This article is dedicated to the restaurants that deserve a ghostly thumbs up if only due to their creepy reputation.
1. The Olde Columbus Inne (Columbus NJ)
This odd restaurant and hotel seems to be a favorite for paranormal activity. Guests have mentioned sightings of a 19th century orphan girl who used to work there in life, as well as strange noises that occur near an old jail cell near the restaurant. Even better, Columbus has a tie to the infamous New Jersey Devil.
2. The Union Hotel, Restaurant, and Bar (Flemington NJ)
This famous hotel has a long history of strange poltergeist activity, phantom music, cold spots, and sightings of female ghosts. Apparently, there's good reason for this too. This hotel housed reporters during the infamous Lindbergh Baby Kidnapping investigation in the earlier half of the 20th century. Creepier still, some have actually reported seeing the ghost of the Lindbergh baby!
3. Jimmy's Steak and Seafood Grill (Morristown NJ)
I've heard of a lot of strange activity that takes place here, mainly of the poltergeist form. There is also talk about a ghost girl who used to work in the house before it became a restaurant occasionally showing up in mirrors.
4. Taj Mahal (Atlantic City, NJ)
There was a rumor that a man jumped from the 10th story of the hotel, and that his soul remained there after his demise. This is an ideal spot to go if you want to gamble, eat, and also see the dead haunting the area.
5. The Brass Rail Restaurant (Hoboken, NJ)
According to some sources, a phantom wedding party that was descending down the stairs of this old restaurant spooked the daylights out of a poor waiter! Usually the ghost party descends the stairs at night.
