There are certain times of the year many would tell you to avoid travel to Walt Disney World. But let's get real: not everyone can visit after the kids head back to school or right after the new year. Thankgiving, around Christmas, Easter-time, Memorial Day, during summer vacation - some people have no choice but to make their trip the World during these high traffic times.
So how do you beat them while you have to join them? There are a few ways. A major one is by using Disney's Fastpass system.
Fastpass requires you to enter your park ticket into a Fastpass machine at Disney World's most popular attractions when you don't want to suffer through a long stand-by wait time. The machine will print out a pass with a window of time where you can return and enter a shorter Fastpass line and get onto the ride more quickly.
If you look at the ticket it will seem that you can only get back on the attraction with your Fastpass if you return during that one-hour time period, but that's not the case. Most cast members (Disney's term for employees) will let you through the Fastpass line any time after the earliest time printed throughout the remainder of the day. You are only permitted one ride per Fastpass though.
Your Fastpass will also detail when you can obtain a pass for another attraction as you cannot just run around the park to every popular attraction and collect Fastpasses straight off the bat.
The following attractions offer Fastpass:
*Those listed in bold run out of their allotted Fastpasses early, so it's recommended you get one as soon as possible in the day.
