You probably know Madonna for her music, or perhaps her much publicized love life, or perhaps for her rigorous daily exercise routine.

In other words, you probably know Madonna for her body.

But now the pop Diva has decided to take her fitness to the next level---the Ultra-level.

According to Brisbanetimes.com:

"Madonna is in training to run the 243 kilometre, six-day Maraton des Sables in the Moroccan desert next April.

A source told America's Star magazine: "She's always been in great shape, but she is now taking things to a whole other level. She is serious about doing it."

The 51-year-old star is so keen to triumph she has warned her management to keep her schedule free for the whole month."

But her publicist, Liz Rosenberg, says the rumors are false, saying bluntly: "It's not true."

The Marathon de Sables is really at the deep end of Ultra-running as the organizers bill it as the "toughest footrace on earth."

The grueling 151 mile running race takes place in the Sahara desert between April 2 and April 12 of 2010.

The 2010 race is sold out and currently the lottery is open for 2011 race...not that Madonna would need to enter a lottery we suspect.
